How to Stay Sane When Life is Insane

We’ve all been there. The days where nothing goes according to plan. You’ve locked your keys in the car (again) and the kids are wondering why they can’t just go play with their friends like they normally do. COVID has created a different type of insanity that many of us are trying to find a balance in and maintain some form of sanity. Here at Leadership Lab, we get it! Some days are just hard.

We have taken the liberty of creating some easy ways to get that day back on track and feel like you can take on anything!

  1. Make a list:

Create a list of all the things you have to do - then organize it by priority. Get that most important thing done! You will be surprised how good that makes you feel. Make all your tasks get in a single-file line. That being said, if you have a list of 50 things to do today, knock out a few non-priority items to make that list feel a little smaller. It’s a mind game.

  2. Take a few minutes:

Breathe. Your tasks don’t get easier when you start hyperventilating. One might argue that the overall quality of that task improves when you’ve cleared your mind and built up that determination.

  3. Don’t shut the door:

This might be a proverbial door but work with us. When things get overwhelming, our instinct can be to shut the door and sequester ourselves. Do you know what shutting a door does? Cuts off any assistance that might come your way. You never know how help will present itself - even if it is in the form of a cup of coffee.

Managing that thing we call life can be challenging at times. If we can help reduce stress in your life, we will consider our job well done. Perhaps these tips helped you, but maybe they left you still feeling overwhelmed. If that is the case, we have some workshops that might be beneficial for you (check out Workshop #5). No pressure, but if you need us, you know where to find us.

P.s. Because we believe in meeting our clients where they are at, we can adjust our workshops to meet your needs or the needs of your teams. Just reach out to Destiny, destiny@leadershiplabllc.com for more information.
